LegalTerms of use
Last updated: November 2026. By using this website or sending a request, you agree to these terms. Please read them.
1. What HomeHelp Direct is
HomeHelp Direct is a referral service. You send us a request for plumbing, cleaning or moving, and we pass it to a local professional who may be able to help. We are not a plumber, cleaner or mover, and we do not perform the work.
2. The professionals are independent
The professionals we pass requests to are independent businesses. They are not our employees or agents. They decide whether to take a job, how to do it and what to charge. Any agreement for work is between you and the professional.
3. Prices
We do not set prices. The price for any job comes from the professional’s quote. Please make sure you understand what a quote includes before you agree to it. Sending a request doesn’t commit you to anything, and you may decline a quote.
4. No guarantees
We aim to pass requests along quickly, but we don’t guarantee that a professional will be available, how fast they will respond, or the outcome of any job. We don’t guarantee the quality, safety or timing of any professional’s work, and we don’t verify any professional’s licenses, permits or insurance for you. If these matter for your job, please ask the professional directly.
5. Emergencies
This is not an emergency service. For gas leaks, fire, serious flooding or any danger to people, contact emergency services or your utility company first.
6. Your responsibilities
- Give accurate information in your requests, including a phone number where you can be reached.
- Use the service only for real requests, and not to send spam or anything unlawful.
- Treat the professionals you deal with respectfully, and provide safe access to the work area.
7. Professionals who join our network
If you apply to join our network, you confirm that the information in your application is accurate and that you will hold any licenses, permits and insurance that your work requires. Being accepted into the network doesn’t guarantee any particular number of requests, and we may stop passing requests to a professional at any time.
8. Limits on our responsibility
To the fullest extent the law allows, HomeHelp Direct isn’t responsible for the work, conduct, prices or availability of the professionals, or for any loss or damage arising from a job arranged between you and a professional. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the law that can’t be limited.
9. The website
We work to keep the website running and accurate, but it’s provided “as is”, and we may change or remove content or features at any time. The HomeHelp Direct name, logo and site content belong to us, and you may not copy them for commercial use without permission.
10. Privacy
How we handle your details is explained in our privacy policy.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time, and the date at the top of the page will change when we do. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
12. Contact
