What we help with

Typical plumbing jobs

These are the kinds of requests people send us most often for plumbing. Not sure your problem fits? Describe it to the pro when they call.

  • LeaksDripping taps, leaking pipes, water under the sink.
  • ClogsSlow or blocked sinks, tubs, drains and toilets.
  • InstallationsNew faucets, sinks, toilets and showerheads.
  • Appliance hookupsDishwasher, washing machine and garbage disposal connections.
  • Water heatersProblems with hot water, or replacing an old unit.
  • Low pressure or running toiletsWeak flow, constant running, or noisy pipes.

How it works

  1. Send your request. Pick Plumbing, add your city and phone number.
  2. We pass it on. Your request goes to a local plumber who covers your area.
  3. The plumber calls you. You describe the job, get a quote and decide whether to book.

Emergency? If you smell gas, leave the building and call 911 or your gas company. HomeHelp Direct is a request service, not an emergency line, so use it for jobs that can wait for a callback.

Before you send your request

  • If water is leaking, turn off the shutoff valve for that fixture or the main supply if you know where it is.
  • Note where the problem is and when it started.
  • Take a photo if you can. It helps the plumber give a better quote.
  • Say whether it’s a house, an apartment or an office, and whether someone can give access.

Plumbing questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job. We don’t set prices. The plumber who contacts you gives you a quote, and you decide whether to accept it.

Does HomeHelp Direct send the plumber?

We pass your request to a local plumber. The plumber then contacts you directly and arranges the work with you.

Which areas do you cover for plumbing?

Brooklyn, Monsey and Lakewood. See the service areas page.

What if I need someone right now?

For a flooding or gas emergency, contact emergency services or your utility first. For everything else, send a request and mention in the form that it’s urgent when the pro calls.
